Coquelicot at Sunset, originally uploaded by ParsecTraveller.
These coquelicots, also known as Flanders poppies, were growing along a country roadside in the Dauphiné region of France, near Lyon. Summer sounds so good right now...

Pretty cool, huh? We had another great day here today. We are enjoying having so much to do while in this area. We're going to miss it when we move on.
Although Nathan and I have been to this lighthouse already, we were thrilled to visit again with Barb and John because it was so smoky during our last visit. I'm so glad we did because the view was fabulous from the top.
I have already shared much information about this historic lighthouse in my last post, but just one reminder that there are 248 steps to get to the top.
It takes some time to get there!
The climb is worth it though because the view is amazing!

We had a great time here, and saw that each time we come back, we will learn more things about this interesting place.

Looking towards the South Rim. This was taken later in the evening on my second walk along the Bright Angel Point Trail.
Along the Point Imperial Trail. Elevation 8803 feet. The highest point on the North Rim. On a clear day you can see the Vermillion Cliffs off in distance to the northeast.
Along the Cape Royal Trail.
The view from Cape Royal. Freya Peak is in the foreground with a little bit of the Colorado River in the distance off to the left. Taken with the 7x zoom fully extended. Apparently (according to a sign at Cape Royal) this is the only place on the North Rim where the Colorado River can be seen. At this point the river is 70 miles below Lees Ferry - the site from which all points on the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon are measured.

We played well as a team.
We were happy with how we did today.
We ended up in the championship game for our bracket. We won Runner Up position. Considering that three out of four of our games were against two men, I was thrilled!
These were the winners in our bracket:
Congratulations guys! You played a great game against us.
